"Having used our bodies to play here subject to the many limitations we have created and accepted as real, we now have the opportunity to enjoy playing here in these same bodies free of these limitations. We access this freedom by appreciating ourselves as the miraculous beings we truly are -- the Power and Presence of God -- the creator of our bodies and all of the many ways we experience
them". From Arnold Patent's book entitled "Money"
----------------------------
If the above statement is accurate, why then do we seem to suffer as we attempt to overcome our limitations?
It appears as though we actually love the contrast - the contrast between what we want and not having it. This is how it seems to play out. We have a desire that we're not yet a vibrational match to - otherwise it would be in our life experience. Then, because it is not yet manifest, our practiced way of being is to feel some discomfort, (contrasting emotion) impatience, frustration, fear, anxiety. I assert that these are all addiction. What do these addictions provide? What do ALL addictions provide but the comfort of the familiar. There's a familiar well-worn groove in our neurological pathways. These actions and reactions become so immediate and are rarely questioned by the unconscious programs of our mind.
From Groove to Grave
This same practice of getting into the groove, will also get you into a rut, a ditch and eventually the grave.
Consider what might happen if we conditioned the appreciation response.
We have the freedom of thought to repeatedly condition our minds with thoughts of limitation. We are the thinkers of our thoughts. No one else can do that for you, unless of course you're plugged into the television or video games all day long. So having created thoughts of limitation means that you can also create thoughts of appreciation. Thoughts of appreciation for EVERYTHING. The fun stuff and the not so fun stuff.
As Patent goes on to teach, we are the extension of the power and presence of God and being so, anytime anything happens in our life experience that is less than optimal, we're given the immediate opportunity to call back our power. That is, we can take the power that we invested in making that unwanted outcome or experience that appears to have power of us at all and transmute it into a preferred outcome. Both experiences, wanted and unwanted, in this holographic experience is unreal. It's just that one seems to be preferred over the other. It ends up being a question of where we put our attention, intentions and energy.
Ultimately, we're all enrolled in this four-dimensional reality called the human experience. My question is, why not try on more of the God power that we already are and have access to 24/7? That God power is utter delight and appreciation of ALL of Its creations. This takes the judgment out - the cement that forces the experience to concrete reality - and just allows us to play in the world of unlimited creation.
What kind of a world would this be if we became addicted to possibility, appreciation and blissful thinking? Heaven on earth, perhaps?
I'm creating a NEW daily practice. It's called conscious appreciation of EVERYTHING.
I'm a work in progress - a miraculous work in progress. You are TOO!
I'll keep you posted on how it's working so stay tuned!
